The presence of moderate levels of ketones in the urine, known as moderate ketonuria, can be a sign of various metabolic conditions, including uncontrolled diabetes or a ketogenic diet.

It is important to stabilize blood sugar levels and prevent excessive ketone production to manage ketonuria.

Consuming low-fat proteins can provide essential amino acids for muscle preservation and restoration while supporting stable blood sugar levels and discouraging ketone production.

Choosing lean protein sources, such as fish, can be particularly beneficial.

One delicious and nutritious way to incorporate lean protein and wholesome ingredients into your diet is by trying the Taiwanese Ginger Fish Soup recipe.

Recipe Benefits

  • Fish is a lean protein source rich in essential amino acids, supporting muscle health and repair. Its low-fat content makes it suitable for individuals managing ketonuria, while its omega-3 fatty acids may help reduce inflammation and support heart health.
  • Ginger is a flavorful spice with potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. It may help improve digestion, reduce nausea, and support overall well-being, making it beneficial for individuals with moderate ketonuria.
  • Green onions add freshness and aroma to the soup, enhancing its flavor profile. They contain vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that support immune function and overall health.
  • Sesame oil adds richness and aroma to the soup, contributing to its savory taste. While used sparingly, sesame oil contains healthy fats and antioxidants that may benefit heart health and well-being.
  • Salt enhances the soup’s flavor and can be adjusted according to personal preference. While excessive salt intake should be avoided, moderate salt consumption is generally acceptable for individuals with moderate ketonuria.
